Sydney-isms

Sydney "Are blind people in this world?"
Me: "Yes"
Sydney: "I've never seen one"
Me: "Well, they're out there."
Sydney: "Maybe they're hiding in the woods because they don't want people to know they're blind."

Probably so Sydney, probably so.

All I Want For...

Well, it's not Christmas, so I guess we can't sing that song, but Sydney finally lost her other front tooth tonight, so she's now totally toothless in the front.

Striking a pose

Her tooth fairy pillow. It has a little pocket on the back side to put the tooth in, then the tooth fairy can put the money in there when she takes the tooth. Her last lost tooth gained her $3 and some candy. Ya know, to move the other tooth along.
Tomorrow is her first day back from Spring Break and she's looking forward to going back. I had to work Thursday and Friday, so she got to spend a day with each grandma and she enjoyed that. Then of course, swim class every day of Spring Break. I'm glad that's over! Here in a few weeks soccer will be starting and I'm sure that'll make for some darn cute pictures!

Spring Break-day 2

Day 2 our plan was to go to the license branch and have lunch with mom and dad. And then, whatever else we decided to get into. Well, maybe I shouldn't have left so much free time available. Although it worked out nicely when I decided to put eyeliner on my eyeball and scratch my cornea. Sooo, after the license branch, we went across the street to the Immediate Care Center and had it looked at, then went to the pharmacy for some antibiotic ointment. THEN, lunch with mom and dad. Afterwards, we stopped by my work to see my friend before she has her baby (today!) Then, Sydney decided she wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese (for real this time), so we went over there. Keep in mind, most of this time, it feels like someone is stabbing me in the eye with needles, so it's pretty exciting. After that, I went to get a manicure and she got one fingernail custom painted, it was really cute. Amazingly, my eye didn't bother me one time while we were in there. Then, to kill time before swim class, we went to mom and dads. My brother and his wife are out of town, so mom and dad have their dog, Lucy. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my dog, but this dog is the BESTEST dog EVER! So, we played with her for a while and I got to lay down with a cold rag over my eye. Then it was off to swim class, where I wore a patch and my sunglasses. Cause I'm starting a new fashion. Anyway, today my eye is worse, so I have an appointment with my doc later today. And since I didn't go to work, today is Spring Break-day 3! Although we're not going to do anything fun today I'm sure. She gets to go back to my mom and dad's while I'm at the dr., so she's pretty stoked. And I guess that's all that matters.

Spring Break day 1

At the last minute, I was able to get 2 days off during Spring Break week. So, today, we went and picked up Addison with the intention of attempting Chuck E. Cheese. I told the girls that if it was too crowded, we'd go swimming at the YMCA instead. BTW-I dried Sydney's hair this morning and flipped it out, it was soooo cute!

the back!

Ok, back to our day. Our first stop was to a local pizzeria where they bring your drinks on a train. It's so cool and Sydney loves it.

Addison also loved the train. So, we left there, drove to Chuck E. Cheese, and I said "girls, it's not too busy, let's go." And they both said "actually, we'd rather go swimming." So, we ran into the shoe place next to Chuck E. Cheese, which was a planned stop anyway, then went to the Y to swim.

Sydney's a total fish. The kiddie pool was closed until 4 pm and by the time we got out there, it was only 3:15. Addison didn't want to swim in the big pool, so she just sat on the steps while Sydney swam.

Finally, 4:00 rolled around and they were able to play in the kiddie area for about 20 minutes.

I love this face! Priceless! So, after that, I took Addison back to her mom, then it was off to take Sydney to swim class, if you can believe that. We had a big day and I'm sure they'll both sleep well tonight. Tomorrow we plan on having lunch with my mom and dad and I have to renew my tags (fun fun!) and maybe a manicure, or whatever else we get into.

Sydney-isms

She asked me the Friday night if she had to take a bath. I told her that she didn't have to if she didn't want to, since we weren't going anywhere in the morning. She said "ok, then I don't want to." Then she said "smell my armpits, they smell like cherries." I could not make this stuff up! I laughed so hard. Thing was, she wasn't even smelling her armpits, she was smelling the crook of her arm and I have no idea why she thought it smelled like cherries!

Field Trip!

I went with Sydney on her field trip today. First they got to play in the water table. Which, if I were their age, I wouldn't have left. It did look like fun.

Next was a little educational session about "creepy crawlies". They got to look at a millworm, a beetle and a millipede (all yuck!), and then she put a big fat nightcrawler on their tray.

There was also a wet papertowel on the tray and the kids were given flashlights to shine on the nightcrawler to get him to think that was the sun. Since they like, cold, damp, dark places, the idea was that the kids would force him into the papertowel. It worked!
After that little bit of fun, we headed to the theater to watch a movie about animals. It was really cool too. Then we ate lunch and it was over. I had signed up to take Sydney home with me and would you believe she didn't want to go? She wanted to go back to school and then to daycare to play with her friends. Well, I guess I see where I stand. It's already started.

My Birthday

At this local mexican restaurant, when it's your birthday, they come up behind you, put on a sombrero, sing happy birthday to you in spanish, then take a napkin full of whipped cream and shove it in your face. So, of course this is where Chris wanted to celebrate my birthday.

I had it everywhere. In my hair, up my nose, in my lap, on my shirt. Here's Sydney trying to help me clean up.

Although I appear to be crying here, I assure you no one was hurt in this whipped creaming. And I got sopapillas out of it, so it was all good.

Breakfast with Belle

Chip and Mrs. Potts. I especially loved this one!

Sydney, Savana, and Kayla with Mrs. Potts

Sydney and Belle. She just kept going on and on about how beautiful she was. She kept running up to her and hugging her.

And these are pics of Sydney's room after I painted it and got new furniture.

Technical Difficulties

I am currently having technical difficulties uploading photos to the blog. It's a different computer, so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it. But rest assured, I'm on it. Hang tight...
