Snowmaggedon 2010

It's a Winter Wonderland out here!
Cori, rooting for something. I have no idea what she thinks she'll find.

Our road

The making of

Sydney, eating "snow apples"

Before we headed out. Sydney had such a good time playing in the snow. Usually, she doesn't even mention going outside in the snow. I wanted to go out and take pictures, and she had a blast. So, I've probably started something. But that's ok, we had fun. Chris even joined us and so did the dog. Cori loves snow.

The Three Little Kittens

This is what Sydney insisted on wearing to school the other day. This is much better than what she first wanted to wear, so I let her go. Sigh... My only hope is that adults who see her at school don't think I actually picked this out.

Working on the gingerbread house (a month after Christmas) got crazy!

and this is her reciting "The Three Little Kittens" They memorize a new nursery rhyme every month at school. I'm especially fascinated because I don't know this one myself. Well, I do now!

Chris the chef

Here is a picture of a new dish Chris made for me. It was really good. Right before he took the picture, he said "do you have any leaves to put on here?" So, I had to get out my bay leaves, so he could have a proper garnish.

And here is the chef himself, in all his arrogant glory! =)

Squirrels

Sydney: "I'm playing a squirrel in a tree" (as she's climbing my bed post)
Me: "Ok, come in here and brush your teeth. And get off my bed!"
Sydney: (as she's brushing her teeth) "I'm a dusty old woman."
Me: "You're what?"
Sydney: "I'm dusty old woman cause I'm a squirrel. Squirrels must be very dusty."

I have no earthly idea why squirrels must be dusty, but it's stuff like this that just makes my days!

Crafty

Chris decided the other night to get some clay so he and Sydney could have a craft night together (I was out to dinner with friends).
So, this is all the stuff she made.

And here's what Chris made. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I'm extremely impressed. Like, really. I mean, I've seen the yellow submarine he made in 4th grade, but I didn't realize he still possessed such artistic talent. The birdbath was the coolest one I thought. So, we're going to paint all this stuff tomorrow.

And this is what happens when you've just crafted yourself out. This picture gives you an idea of how huge she is. There's a little girl in her swim class who just turned 8 and they're the same height (Sydney's 5 and a half). Yikes!

And this one shows you my handsome husband and my beautiful daughter. Aww...

Lights!

Friday evening, we went to a surprise party for my friend, then headed out to a local town where the square and the park were lit up for Christmas. My niece lives close by, so we picked her up and took her out with us. I didn't have my camera, but we took this with my niece's phone. Aren't they precious?
