The Three Little Kittens

This is what Sydney insisted on wearing to school the other day. This is much better than what she first wanted to wear, so I let her go. Sigh... My only hope is that adults who see her at school don't think I actually picked this out.

Working on the gingerbread house (a month after Christmas) got crazy!

and this is her reciting "The Three Little Kittens" They memorize a new nursery rhyme every month at school. I'm especially fascinated because I don't know this one myself. Well, I do now!

Chris the chef

Here is a picture of a new dish Chris made for me. It was really good. Right before he took the picture, he said "do you have any leaves to put on here?" So, I had to get out my bay leaves, so he could have a proper garnish.

And here is the chef himself, in all his arrogant glory! =)

Squirrels

Sydney: "I'm playing a squirrel in a tree" (as she's climbing my bed post)
Me: "Ok, come in here and brush your teeth. And get off my bed!"
Sydney: (as she's brushing her teeth) "I'm a dusty old woman."
Me: "You're what?"
Sydney: "I'm dusty old woman cause I'm a squirrel. Squirrels must be very dusty."

I have no earthly idea why squirrels must be dusty, but it's stuff like this that just makes my days!

Crafty

Chris decided the other night to get some clay so he and Sydney could have a craft night together (I was out to dinner with friends).
So, this is all the stuff she made.

And here's what Chris made. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I'm extremely impressed. Like, really. I mean, I've seen the yellow submarine he made in 4th grade, but I didn't realize he still possessed such artistic talent. The birdbath was the coolest one I thought. So, we're going to paint all this stuff tomorrow.

And this is what happens when you've just crafted yourself out. This picture gives you an idea of how huge she is. There's a little girl in her swim class who just turned 8 and they're the same height (Sydney's 5 and a half). Yikes!

And this one shows you my handsome husband and my beautiful daughter. Aww...

Lights!

Friday evening, we went to a surprise party for my friend, then headed out to a local town where the square and the park were lit up for Christmas. My niece lives close by, so we picked her up and took her out with us. I didn't have my camera, but we took this with my niece's phone. Aren't they precious?

Thanksgiving 09

Heard from the backseat of the car while pulling up to mom's. "I knew there were going to be more people here. Cause it's thanksgiving and that's when we all get together so we can thanks give, right?"
These are the turkey cupcakes I made for Chris's aunts Thanksgiving. One note, I should have refrigerated them or something, by the time we got there, they were kind of deflated and flat and their "feathers" were falling off.

My mom and my aunt Sharon. The following pics were taken by Sydney.

My precious baby, pic taken by my dad.

This is at Chris's aunts house. The girls are getting into their turkey cupcakes.

Addison was really into it!

I am very thankful for all my family, immediate and extended, in laws and all.
