After church on Sunday, we picked up Addison and Cali and took them back to our house to play. Sydney really misses having them around and often asks to see them. So, here there are, all dressed up and playing. I loved having them there and didn't want to take them back!Monday, March 30, 2009
All done! And a day with cousins

Our new room and floor progress
The rooom is now complete...I think. We've got our new bed, I've got my throw pillows and that cool picture hanging above the bed. I actually never want to leave my room now. I love it so much. It's kind of dangerous.
And I've included this pic of my silly girl, posing with my new car charm I won as a prize at a bridal shower. She's so silly. The other day she reminded me it was "Patrick's Day" and that if we didn't wear green, we'd get punched. I was impressed she got pretty close. Our floor is being installed as I type, the man we hired got started yesterday, but ran into a slight problem when he realized the floor had to be built up before he could start. So, that consumed most of his day yesterday and not a whole lot of pergo got laid. But, he thinks he'll be done today, so I hope so. I'd love to have a kitchen I actually want to be in...and have my dining room table back.
So, now I'm in here trying to keep Sydney from going out there and trying to help him, or talk his ear off, and keep the dog in the house at the same time. Woo hoo!

Random updates
So, we decided to finally start working on the floor. I know, amazing! But hold on... there's more. First, Sydney wanted to help, so here are the tools she felt were necessary to do her job.
Look closely, these are her "work clothes" she told me.

This is what we got done, then we got stuck, then after asking friends about it, we realized we were doing it all wrong and decided to hire someone to do it. He's coming Wednesday. Sigh...

Sydney finds lots of those little pesky ladybugs that get into your house, and she makes them her pets. She was keeping them in this Barbie suitcase at first, until I suggested she try using someting larger.

The Zoo
The day started out with picking up Addison at her house, where she showed me her purple flower. She was so proud and wanted a picture. She also kissed it, but that picture didn't turn out well. Just the top of her head.
This beautiful bird greeted us by the restrooms as soon as we got in! They are magnificent!
And for those of you out there who know about the giraffes video, here ya go!
And this little funny guy. I didn't even think he was real at first. Cute!
And all the precious sun bathing meerkats. I want one!
Lorakeet Landing...yes, I got peed on.
And attacked. They were trying to un velcro the back of my hat!
And the orangutan, whose hair is surprisingly long and dread like. Very weird. All in all we were there probably 3 hours and we were DONE by the time we had made our way around. It was a great day for a trip to the zoo, being unseasonably warm weather. Of course, everyone else thought it was a good idea too, but it was ok.Monday, February 23, 2009
What happens when Sydney gets the camera

She says the cutest things
Sydney has been saying some of the cutest things lately. It's just her thought process that amazes me. Of course, now that I'm sitting in front of the computer and document all of this cuteness, I can only remember one thing. We were driving the other morning and the sky was beautiful, it looked like watercolor painting. Sydney noticed how pretty it was and asked why it was like that. I told her that God had painted us a beautiful sky. She said "I know why he did that" and I said "why?" She said "because it's Valentine's (pronounced Valentime's) Day" It was actually past Valentine's Day, but I wasn't going to correct her, cause it was cute. Now, if I can remember the other precious thing she said to me, I'll get back to you. I really need to start writing them down.

Circus 09! (And a brand new do!)
We went to the circus with my friend Paula, her husband, and her little girl, Millie. It was the first time Millie and Sydney had met. Here they are holding hands on their way into the circus.
Sydney was so excited. I think Millie wondered what was going on. Also, look carefully here at the length of Sydney's hair, so you can understand the later pictures.
Of course, Sydney HAD to jump in this bounce house. She was schooled in what is called a "rip off" since we payed $6.00 for her to jump for 15 minutes. And the lady in this picture wasn't very nice.
Tigers! Sydney really liked these. The shirtless guy in the leather pants was a little ridiculous.
I have a new found love for elephants. They are so cute!
For the most part, I think Sydney was more interested in her sno cone than anything going on around her. She was finally a little happier when I let her stand up and she got to dance around in front of her seat. She made a friend with the little girl next to us who was basically copying everything Sydney did. It was too cute. Millie even came down a couple times to dance. The circus went on forever and eventually, our kiddos were tired. So, after nearly 3 hours, we left. I can't believe it lasted that long! Sydney had fun.
This is just a picture I took of Chris and Sydney in front of the pond last Sunday. We tried to take Sydney sledding down our hill, but she didn't like it. We got to the top of the hill and she looked down and said "this doesn't look very safe." Which just cracked me up! I had to run down next to her, holding her hand. We did that about 3 times before she said she didn't want to do it anymore, she didn't like it. Maybe next year. The big haircut!! Be warned, it's too cute!
So, Sydney hacked at her hair yet again today and I had just had it. So, I took her to get it all evened up (except for the part where she basically scalped herself. Nothing we can do about that.) So, here's what it looks like. I think it's adorable. She alternates between "hating" it and liking it. She says now she looks like Millie.
