All done! And a day with cousins

After church on Sunday, we picked up Addison and Cali and took them back to our house to play. Sydney really misses having them around and often asks to see them. So, here there are, all dressed up and playing. I loved having them there and didn't want to take them back!

Ta dow! The new kitchen floor!

So, we are no longer floorless. It's a good feeling. Now if I can just swing some new carpet in the great room, we'll be in business! Always something!

The rooom is now complete...I think. We've got our new bed, I've got my throw pillows and that cool picture hanging above the bed. I actually never want to leave my room now. I love it so much. It's kind of dangerous.

And I've included this pic of my silly girl, posing with my new car charm I won as a prize at a bridal shower. She's so silly. The other day she reminded me it was "Patrick's Day" and that if we didn't wear green, we'd get punched. I was impressed she got pretty close.
Our floor is being installed as I type, the man we hired got started yesterday, but ran into a slight problem when he realized the floor had to be built up before he could start. So, that consumed most of his day yesterday and not a whole lot of pergo got laid. But, he thinks he'll be done today, so I hope so. I'd love to have a kitchen I actually want to be in...and have my dining room table back.
So, now I'm in here trying to keep Sydney from going out there and trying to help him, or talk his ear off, and keep the dog in the house at the same time. Woo hoo!

Random updates

So, we decided to finally start working on the floor. I know, amazing! But hold on... there's more. First, Sydney wanted to help, so here are the tools she felt were necessary to do her job.

Look closely, these are her "work clothes" she told me.

This is what we got done, then we got stuck, then after asking friends about it, we realized we were doing it all wrong and decided to hire someone to do it. He's coming Wednesday. Sigh...

Sydney finds lots of those little pesky ladybugs that get into your house, and she makes them her pets. She was keeping them in this Barbie suitcase at first, until I suggested she try using someting larger.

And now, a coupe pictures from our Friday night out for my birthday, several weeks ago. I LOVE sushi! In fact, since that day, I haven't been able to get enough. It's weird. I'm pretty sure I'll get mercury poisoning at some point.

And I leave you with this picture, for which there really are no words. We found it in the bowling alley parking lot. Happy birthday to me!

The Zoo

The day started out with picking up Addison at her house, where she showed me her purple flower. She was so proud and wanted a picture. She also kissed it, but that picture didn't turn out well. Just the top of her head.

This beautiful bird greeted us by the restrooms as soon as we got in! They are magnificent!

And attacked. They were trying to un velcro the back of my hat!

And the orangutan, whose hair is surprisingly long and dread like. Very weird. All in all we were there probably 3 hours and we were DONE by the time we had made our way around. It was a great day for a trip to the zoo, being unseasonably warm weather. Of course, everyone else thought it was a good idea too, but it was ok.
