Sydney decides a haircut is in order!

It started with me joking and saying to her that I was going to get my haircut and asking if she wanted to go with me and get all her hair cut off. I thought she would say no way. Instead she said yes. I asked her several times if she was serious. She said her hair was always in her face and she was tired of it. So, I told her she had to ask her dad. He gave the go ahead, so off we went!
She laughed hysterically the whole time she was getting her hair washed. This was the first time I took her to my salon. The places we'd take her before just wet her hair before the cut. So, she was pretty tickled to have this done.

Getting the cape put on. This is my hair stylist, Mel. She's been doing my hair for almost 10 years now. I love her!

Getting it evened out. She had a hard time holding still, so at first the cut was a little crooked.

Look at all my hair mom!

Ta da! It is sooo cute! Chris really likes it, so I'm happy with that. This should be easier for me to brush, and dry at night. She's not one to really wear anything in her hair anyway, so this should work well. When she was done and it was my turn, she decided she would sweep the entire shop of all the hair! I told her they'd want to hire her if she kept it up.

Snowmaggedon continues and a lost tooth!

Woo-hoo! Finally. It's been loose since before Christmas. She prayed the tooth fairy would bring her an extra dollar and some candy. And whatd'ya know? The tooth fairy delivered.

The concrete you see is one step and the sidewalk. The snowdrifts were really bad this time.

My poor car. Stuck in the 2 feet of snow that is (was) my driveway. My neighbor is plowing it as I type. Yah!!

More snow drifts on the back deck. We're supposed to get more this weekend and let me just tell you, I am done with this snow! The kids have already had 5 snow days, plus one for flooding. As of today, they'll be going until the first of June. I hope tomorrow is just a 2 hour delay.

Snowmaggedon 2010 part Deux

As if Saturdays snow wasn't quite enough, today we got another 4-6 dumped on us. And we may not be done yet. Chris was able to work from home, and I didn't attempt to go to work, after Chris came back home mere minutes after leaving, not able to get up the hill next to our house. So, we're all snowbound today. Chris made me a delicious and yummy breakfast of a cheese omelet, toast and fresh fruit. He's so sweet.
So, this is looking off the front porch. My driveway is somewhere in there.

From the front door. Usually you can see the road from here. Not today!

The back deck

It appears to have stopped for now, I hope no more comes our way. I'm done with snow. It seems it's been an awfully snowy winter and I don't appreciate it one bit.

Sydney-isms

Sydney informed me Sunday morning that she prayed to God that I would unground her. I said "Really? I prayed to God that my daughter wouldn't hit other children." She said "yeah, I prayed for that tooo, but He didn't hear me."

And the other day, we were in her room, turned around and saw her sitting on the floor, in full meditation position, feet together, palms up on her knees, middle finger and thumb touching. It was all we could do to keep from rolling on the floor with laughter. I asked her what she was doing and she said she was concentrating real hard so she could talk to Jesus.

Snowmaggedon 2010

It's a Winter Wonderland out here!
Cori, rooting for something. I have no idea what she thinks she'll find.

Our road

Sydney, eating "snow apples"

Before we headed out. Sydney had such a good time playing in the snow. Usually, she doesn't even mention going outside in the snow. I wanted to go out and take pictures, and she had a blast. So, I've probably started something. But that's ok, we had fun. Chris even joined us and so did the dog. Cori loves snow.
