New Carpet

After soooo many years of needing new carpet, thanks to a frequently puking baby, a dog and a cat who peed in the corner, I won $500 at work and we were able to replace at least the great room and hallway of our main floor!
Here's Chris, hard at work ripping out the old carpet.

woo hoo! Nasty carpet out...

New darker (better to hide stains) carpet in. Aaah, nice.

The hall and into the great room.

I guess all the excitement just wore her out. We were watching t,v. and at about 7 pm I realized she was asleep. So, I'm content for now with the new carpet. Since we have an offer on our house (contingent on them selling their house), we're not going to do anything else at this point. The carpet was already bought and scheduled when they put in the offer. I'm excited about having an offer and then again, I'm not holding my breath. We'll see.

Sydney's broken wrist

That's right peeps, Sydney broke yet another bone this past weekend. It all happened when she fell off the monkey bars and landed wrong on her wrist causing a "buckle fracture." We found out on Sunday it was broken and they splinted it and put it in a sling. Here she is posing before we went to get her real cast on Tuesday.

Laying around after the cast. She pinked pink this time.

This one only has to be on for a month and thankfully it's not her writing hand. So, I guess if something had to be broken, this is the best option. Sigh... I hope she's not setting some sort of trend here. Two broken bones in less than 1 year time? Lord help us!

Sydney's first game

This is how my day started. Got to work at 5:20 and was able to see the sunrise.
It was really pretty.
Sydney's first game started out with her front and center, but she really didn't know what to do and she got nervous and upset and started to cry.

Once they put her next to the goalie and she wasn't in all that action, she liked it better. I just hope she gets the hang of the game eventually. Here they are shaking hands with the other team at the end.

So, after that, I ran to the grocery store and made the fastest trip through there in my life (it was awesome), came home, unloaded groceries, got a quick nap, then went to a baby shower for my friend Jamie who just adopted a little baby.

Soccer Sydney

It's official. I'm a soccer mom. I'm just missing the mini van now. Sydney had her first soccer practice this past Tuesday and she'll be having games on Saturdays for the next 10 weeks I believe. She has never played soccer, so this is all new for her. But I think she likes it.
Listening to the coach explain the rules

Sydney and her friend Savana

Go girl go!

In action. They are too cute. Savana's really pretty good, she played last year. Sydney's excited for her first game!

The Easter Snake

Woo hoo! A big ol bunny card! She was so excited about that.

And she got the press on nails she wanted!

All dressed up for church.

We picked up Addison and Cali and took them to church with us.

After church, we went to my mom and dad's for an Easter Egg Hunt and lunch. This is all the girls with their baskets. Which somehow coordinated with their shirts/dress.

My brother, his wife and their kids, being goofy.

Now a nice serious pose.

Sydney on the prowl for eggs!

In front of the pretty flowers

Me, Chris and Syd at mom and dad's.

A nice picture of Sydney I managed to capture today while Chris and I were out snake hunting.

A big ol' rat snake we found (we didn't know it was a rat snake at the time and now we feel bad because Chris insisted on killing it because he thought it was a bad snake).

Poor snakey, rest in peace my friend.

Easter Egg Hunt

So, it wasn't really the best weather for an Easter egg hunt. At least not in the morning anyway. We had such a huge turnout last year and this year was much smaller by comparison. But we did it anyway, and had fun.
Miss Emily, head of the Glory Kidz at my church, started out with a story for the kids.

Then the real fun began.

Doh! Sydney almost took a stumble reaching for an egg.

Some up in the tree!

She filled up her basket twice and had to dump the eggs in my purse. Which, as you can see, the eggs were wet, but it was all good.

Toothless Syd and her basket

Striking a pose. What a silly girl

Sydney with her loot at the end. Maybe 5 minutes after we got inside, the torrential downpour started, so we got done just in time.
